Alone

Amongst the purple green bloom she stood
Alone.
Dark coat swaying gently in the breeze
Alone.
There was nothing like her, but she hoped
Alone.
Her empty heart grew heavier still
Alone.
And the darkness crept upon her soul
Alone.
If she could, she would have shed a tear
Alone.
Neck lowered, no desire to look
Alone.
Her petals fell in silent remorse
Alone.
She stayed still, swallowed whole by the leaves
Alone.
Stems were parted and the light broke through
Alone.
She lifted her eyes as the sun hit
Alone.
There he stood amongst purple green bloom
Alone.
And their dark petals danced together.
Never alone.
